Santa Fe Turkey Burger

The inspiration for this burger comes from the American Southwest. There is some really great food to be had in New Mexico and Arizona and this recipe is proof of that, I assure you.

The superflavor of the Southwest is the New Mexico Green Chile which is a mild rich flavored Chile

that goes perfectly with the mild meat of Turkey. Add in some Tortilla Chips, Cumin and Jalapeno

and you have a winner!!! Oh and the Cheese does it’s bit as well 😁

500g (1 pound) Minced Turkey

1 dl (1/2 cup) Gouda Cheese Shredded

1/2 dl (1/4 cup) Tomato Salsa

100g New Mexico Green Chile Chopped (or use Roasted Padron Chile as substitute)

1 dl (1/2 cup) Tortilla Chips Crushed

1/2 Onion Chopped

2 Tbsp Pickled Jalapeno Chopped

1 tsp Cumin Ground

1 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp Black Pepper Ground

Mix everything and form into 4 Burgers and put them in the fridge.

Start up your Grill for indirect Grilling and take it up to 200c (400F) with lid on.

Put in a thermometer in one of the Burgers and place them on the Grill and Grill them indirect

(Burgers not directly over the heat) under lid until inside temperature reaches 80c (160F).

Let them rest for 5 minutes (if you can wait that long😆) Enjoy!!!
